Motorola Foundation

Motorola supports programs to encourage science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in the U.S. and around the world. The Motorola Foundation’s Innovation Generation grants provide $4 million each year to 92 K-12 education programs, that help to strengthen the U.S. position in STEM by cultivating a workforce inspired by these subjects. They directly address obstacles to achievement by engaging students — particularly girls and under-represented minorities — in the practical applications of the concepts engineers and technologists employ every day at Motorola.

Noyce Foundation

The Noyce Foundation aims to help young people become curious, thoughtful, and engaged learners. The Noyce Foundation focuses on a few key areas: improving the teaching of math, science, and literacy in public schools, developing leadership to support student achievement, education policy and research, and finally, on expanding opportunities for students to experience hands-on science in out-of-school settings.

David and Lucile Packard Foundation

The goal of the Packard Foundation’s subprogram on After School Programs for Children and Youth is to ensure all elementary- and middle-school age children in California have access to publicly-sponsored after-school programs that promote positive youth development. The Foundation promotes the implementation of key elements of the California After-School Master Plan by supporting the development of a statewide technical assistance framework, building and supporting an after-school workforce, stimulating philanthropic and community connections, and encouraging local collaborations to leverage public and private funding for after-school programs.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 123,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. The Institute’s mission is to create strong libraries and museums that connect people to information and ideas.
