Michael W. Radke (Interim)

Michael RadkeMichael Radke was appointed to Interim Director of the Coalition for Science After School in December 2009. He got his start with the Coalition as project manager during the population of the National After School Science Directory as well as the creation of this website. Mike is a graduate of Michigan State University, and subsequently earned a masters degree in Cross Cultural Psychology from Brunel University in the United Kingdom.

Mike has a background as a program manager at summer camps, volunteering for the Boys & Girls Clubs and as an independent consultant conducting educational and cultural research. He grew up with a passion for science, cultivated mainly in informal environments, and is glad to be able to ensure that the opportunities he was afforded increase in number and quality for future generations.

Mike has lived in the United Kingdom, and spent long periods of time in South Africa and India as well as traveling to countries on five continents. When he and his wife, Kristi, aren’t abroad they make their home in the Oakland hills where they live with their dog, Morey, and cat, Beau.

Mike is excited to be working closely with the Steering Committee to further its goals during the leadership transition.
